Cultural City tour

We will leave from your hotel and begin the tour at Municipal Market Adolpho Lisboa. It’s an example of the decorative Art Nouveau widely used during the rubber boom. Here we have the opportunity to meet all kinds of fish, fruits and vegetables found in our region.
After a sightseeing tour through the area outside of Rio Negro Palace, headquarters for many years the State Government is also an example of architecture from the time of the rubber. The visit continues with a visit to our most beautiful monument: The Amazon Opera House, the scene of various cultural events in the city and symbol of the power that the state of Amazonas sported gold-cycle of the rubber.

Scientific Tour

Including a visit to the CIGS ZOO which was founded by the army as a training center to new soldiers. Then, visit the “Bosque da Ciência” belonging to the Amazon research institute – INPA. There we can find several animals such as manatees, giant river otter, alligator and others. At INPA, the manatee, a mammal that is in the list of extinction, was able to reproduce more than once. It is interesting to visit the “Casa da Ciência” (House of Science) which shows some works of scientific research developed by INPA.
