Why discover the Amazon by boat ? Manati Amazônia is specialized in river cruising because streams and rivers have always been used in this part of the world for communication and as pathways. Communities settled right on the riversides, where life is easier, that’s why boats and canoes are the best option to travel and reach the local people of the Amazon. In addition, the Amazon offers a very high biological diversity and only a boat will allow you to observe and understand these differences.

3 days 2 nights program
At 9:00 a.m., your guide will pick you up from your hotel downtown and take you to the port. If you wish you’ll have time to do your last shopping at the market or to visit the area (with the guide) if you have not already done so. Our itineraries focus on the Rio Negro (black water river, as its name suggests) where mosquitos are relatively rare because of the acidity of the water. We allow some flexibility in the itinerary so that the guide can be adapted to the wishes of the passengers; however, for three days, the circuit takes place primarily in the area of Lake Acajatuba, lake leading to the Rio Negro about 60 kms from Manaus. All the typical activities are possible in this area: canoe trips, piranha fishing, visits to the inhabitants of the region (the “caboclos”, i.e. the descendants of Indians and Europeans) and jungle hikes. The circuit offers an activity in the morning and another in the afternoon. The guide will also offer a night excursion to listen to the sounds of the forest and spot caimans. On the way back, the boat will navigate along the famous "Meeting of the Waters", where the black waters of the Rio Negro meet the muddy waters of the Rio Solimões to form the mighty Amazon River. Return to the port scheduled on day 3 at 5:00 p.m. The guide will take you back to your hotel.
4 days 3 nights program
This itinerary is identical to the above basic 3 days/2 nights plus one day/one night. The additional day will allow to visit the region of the Rio Cuieras, a tributary of the Rio Negro.
Several indigenous communities (caboclos and indians) live close to the mouth of the Rio Cuieras. We’ll visit their villages and meet those friendly people and will discover this region and the archipelago of Anavilhanas by canoe, for a whole day. On the way back, the boat will navigate along the famous "Meeting of the Waters", where the black waters of the Rio Negro meet the muddy waters of the Rio Solimões to form the mighty Amazon River. Return to the port scheduled on day 4 at 5:00 p.m. The guide will take you back to your hotel.
5 days 4 nights program
This itinerary is identical to the above basic 4 days/3 nights plus one day/one night.
On day 5 we’ll visit the small town of Novo Airão, located on the right bank of the Rio Negro, about 100 kms as the crow flies from Manaus. Located in front of the large archipelago Anavilhanas, Novo Airao offers a unique attraction: the opportunity to see up close the famous pink dolphins of the Amazon. You will also have the chance to visit a craft center, headed by a young Swiss who teaches young people of Novo Airao on how to use the waste wood from shipyards of the region. You can buy the craft in their little shop.
On the way back, the boat will navigate along the famous "Meeting of the Waters", when the black waters of the Rio Negro meet the muddy waters of the Rio Solimões to form the mighty Amazon River. Return to the port scheduled on day 5 at 5:00 p.m. The guide will take you back to your hotel.
This tour offers a real contact with nature and the local communities, and will give you the actual impression of living at the same pace of the inhabitants who are calm, friendly, warm but industrious people. This tour is simple but offers all the charm of the real ships used by the natives. An unforgettable experience and lots of good memories! At least a 2 days trip is necessary to experience the jungle and the rivers and for a deeper immersion in this amazing place we reccomend a 3-4 days trip. n the way back, the boat will navigate along the famous "Meeting of the Waters", when the black waters of the Rio Negro meet the muddy waters of the Rio Solimões to form the mighty Amazon River. Return to the port scheduled on day 5 at 5:00 p.m. The guide will take you back to your hotel.
Warning: Tours and expeditions require preparation. To have a serious service, you must book with some time in advance, so we can apply for the people involved and prepare the necessary materials. It also calls for a prepayment to be incurred prior to your arrival. We strongly advise you not to come in the Amazon without a pre-established program!
